Lazee is the artist that brightens the European hip gop scene and takes it to another level. Only 22 years old, Lazee delivers rhymes and energy in a way that is rarely seen.
Lazee grew up with his mother and two sisters in Malmö in the south of Sweden. At the age of 12, his mother decided that Malmö was not enough for him and that he needed to experience another environment. So she sent Lazee to London where he was supposed to "become somebody".
Lazee discovered hip hop in the beginning of the 1990's and he wrote his first song at the age of 10. At that time, it was mostly for fun - the big turnaround was when he heared "players Anthem" with Notorious BIG & Junior Mafia.
During the years in London, Lazee did several songs for mixtapes. He quickly became a member of the biggest group in the area, Skrilla Kidz, that later became an inspiration for the establishment of SkrillaMusic in Malmö. Back in Sweden, Lazee passionately spent most time in the studio. First out was his mixtape-album presented by New York's much respected DJ Kay Slay.
In the summer 2007, Lazee went to Stockholm to work with producer Ishi and DJ Sebastian Ingrosso. After the first meeting in the studio, the song "Rock Away" was created.
A few months later, Lazee met with the record company BorderBlaster International who became interested in spreading his music internationally. Lazee became part of the "Scandinavian Hip Hop Invasion" that was launched in several countries.
In France, the public loved Lazee's sound and the singel "Rock Away" directly hit the playlists on both TV and radio. During the spring 2008, Lazee went to Paris several times to record with French artists Mat Pokora and Tyron Carter.
The French success was spread to the US West Coast. When Fred Dust from Limp Bizkits heard the song "Rock Away" he immediately was tempted to make a collaboration and contacted Lazee to invite him to L.A. to record.
Lazee's music stands for a new sound where house meets hip hop and rock. The album "Setting Standards" is a mix of genres and musical inspirations. The album has everything from a souly, 80's funk like Back to 85 to hard and nice drum and bass Heatless.
