June 30, 2010 Three generations of European artists with African origins join to celebrate the African Year 2010 with the song AFRICA. The African Anthem features legendary Manu Dibango, Wayne Beckford and Djany.
In 2010, the best football players join for the first time in Africa for the FIFA World Cup in South Africa. 2010 is also the 50th anniversary of independence for many African countries. For this occasion, the song AFRICA was created as an African Anthem - a tribute to peace, love and victory.
MANU DIBANGO - probably one of the most famous African artists in the world. His music has influenced pop music with songs by Michael Jackson (Wanna be startin' something), Akon, The Fugees, Jennifer Lopez, Jay-Z and Rihanna (Don't stop the music) as well as musical genres like Afrobeat and Jazz.
As early as in 1973, Manu Dibango becomes the link between Africa, Europe and America through the smash hit Soul Makosa. Although Manu is over 70 years old, he's not yet ready to put down his saxophone.
WAYNE BECKFORD - has earned hos reputation as a renaissance man of urban music. He has created hits in all musical genres - from soul, pop, rock to hiphop, reggae and electro. After having worked behind some of the most famous international artists as Akon, Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna and Seal, Wayne recently changed focus and started developing his own carrier. The first single Dynamite hit the charts and opens up the door for a worldwide success with an explosion.
DJANY - This beautiful young lady is part of the next generation of African singers who is developing a musical carrier in Europe. Djany has been breast fed with music from her mother who is a singer and has toured with numerous artists, such as Youssou N'Dour. Today Djany is working with well-established artists and developing her own musical talent to share her melodies and her sweet voice with the world.
