From out of nowhere, Claudia steps in to the studio for the first time. It's a dark and cold December day in in Sweden. She has never sing in a real microphone before. Behind the microphone is British producer Wayne Beckford, known from collaborations and artists like Akon, Robyn, T-Pain, Seal, Toni Braxton and other international stars. The result is magical.
This is how the upcoming urban pop artist tells her story:
Claudia Mericado is the name I was given at birth. It was in 1984 in Cali, Colombia. My biological mother was 16 years old then. She was young, poor and worked as housemaid in different families. She couldn’t take care of me and gave me away to an orphanage. I had the chance to be adopted by s Swedish family who brought me to Sweden where I grew up in a calm suburb. I’ve never been back to Colombia since my birth, but I dream about the day I will return.
Music has always had a special place in my life. It was when I met BorderBlaster that my dream came through. For the first time, i was given the opportunity to sing in a real studio and I was given advice for developing my music. Since then, I spend all my free time singing. My dream is to work with music and I’m not going to let go of this chance.
I’ve been through many things in my life… many difficult moments that I never will forget. Now I’ve decided not to be defeated by the difficulties of life, but to stand up and fight. I finally had the chance to use my experiences for something positive. I dream of inspirint. I will use all my feelings, all tears and all the pain to do something good. Now it’s my turn.
